MST88 Sportsbook: Online Sports Betting Malaysia
Football, badminton, basketball and esports, with pre-match and in-play markets on one betting slip. This page explains the markets, the maths and the habits that make online sports betting easier to follow.
Your first bet in four steps
New to online sports betting in Malaysia? Placing a bet takes less than a minute once you know where everything is.
1. Find the match
Browse by sport and competition, or search for a team. Kick-off times are listed next to each fixture.
2. Tap a price
Tapping the odds adds that selection to your betting slip. Add prices from other matches to build a parlay.
3. Enter your stake
The slip shows your potential return before you confirm. Double-check the market and the line, especially on handicaps.
4. Confirm and track
Accepted bets appear in your bet history, where you can follow them until they settle.
Decimal odds in 10 seconds
| Example match | Home | Draw | Away |
|---|---|---|---|
| Home Team vs Away Team | 2.10 | 3.30 | 3.40 |
| Team A vs Team B | 1.75 | 3.60 | 4.50 |
These are example numbers that show the layout, not live prices. Multiply your stake by the odds to get your total return: RM10 at 2.10 returns RM21.
Handicap and over/under, explained
Asian handicap gives one team a head start in goals, which removes the draw. A -0.5 handicap means your team has to win. A +1.5 handicap means your team can lose by one goal and the bet still wins.
Over/under is a bet on the total number of goals. Over 2.5 wins if the match ends with three goals or more, whichever team scores them.
Correct score pays longer odds because you have to call the exact final result.
Popular with Malaysian players
- English Premier League
- UEFA Champions League
- Malaysia Super League
- BWF badminton tournaments
- MPL MY (Mobile Legends)
Football betting markets at a glance
| Market | You are betting on | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| 1X2 | Home win, draw or away win | Settles on 90 minutes plus stoppage time |
| Double chance | Two of the three outcomes, such as home or draw | Lower odds, because you cover more results |
| Draw no bet | A team to win, with your stake back on a draw | Works like a level (0) handicap |
| Both teams to score | Each side scoring at least once | 1-1 wins "Yes"; 2-0 wins "No" |
| Over/under | Total goals above or below a line | Half lines like 2.5 can't refund; whole lines like 3.0 can |
| Asian handicap | A team after a goal head start or deficit | Quarter lines split your stake in two |
| First half | The same markets, first 45 minutes only | Settles at half-time |
| Corners and cards | Totals or handicaps on corners or bookings | Check the market rules for what counts |
| Outright | The winner of a league or cup | Your stake is tied up until the competition ends |
Settlement rules can differ between markets. If you're not sure what counts, read the sportsbook rules before you bet.
Quarter handicaps, with a worked example
Lines ending in .25 or .75 split your stake into two equal bets on the two nearest lines. That's why some handicap bets end as a "half win" or "half loss".
Example: RM20 on Team A -0.75. Half the stake (RM10) goes on -0.5 and half on -1.0. If Team A wins by exactly one goal, the -0.5 half wins and the -1.0 half is refunded. If Team A wins by two or more, both halves win. A draw or a defeat loses both halves.
The teams and amounts are only an illustration. The same logic applies to any quarter line, in any sport that uses goal or point handicaps.
Handicap cheat sheet
- -0.5: your team must win.
- 0 (level): stake back on a draw.
- +0.25: on a draw, half wins and half is refunded.
- +0.5: your team wins or draws.
- -1.0: win by two to win; win by one and your stake comes back.
Pre-match
Place your bet before kick-off, with the full market list open.
In-play
Odds update live while the match is on, so you can react to the game.
Parlays
Combine picks from different matches into one bet for a bigger return.
How parlay odds multiply
In a parlay, the odds of each selection are multiplied together, and every leg has to win for the bet to pay.
Example: three picks at 1.80, 1.90 and 2.00 give combined odds of 6.84. A RM10 stake would return RM68.40 if all three win, and nothing if any one of them loses. These odds are made up for the example.
More legs mean a bigger potential return but a much smaller chance that all of them land. Many regular bettors keep parlays to two or three legs for that reason.
In-play tips
- Markets can be suspended briefly after a goal, red card or penalty.
- If the price moves while you confirm, your slip may ask you to accept the new odds.
- Streams and live data can run a few seconds behind the real match.
- Decide your stake before kick-off, not in the heat of the game.
Kick-off times and other sports
Premier League in Malaysian time
Malaysia is eight hours ahead of UK winter time and seven hours ahead in the UK summer. A 3pm Saturday kick-off in England starts at 11pm here in winter and 10pm in summer, so late Saturday nights are prime time for football betting.
Badminton
Common markets are match winner, game handicap and total points. Matches are best of three games, so a handicap of -1.5 games needs a 2-0 win.
Esports
For MLBB, Dota 2, CS2 and Valorant you'll usually see match winner, map handicap and total maps. Check whether a market covers the whole series or a single map.
Bet with a plan
Online sports betting is easier to enjoy when the money side is settled before the match starts. A few rules of thumb help.
- Set a monthly betting budget you could lose without it hurting.
- Use a fixed stake per bet, for example 1 to 2% of that budget, so one bad weekend doesn't empty it.
- Keep a simple record of each bet: date, market, odds, stake and result.
- Never raise your stakes to win back losses.
Beware of "fixed match" sellers
Anyone selling guaranteed results or "inside information" for a fee is running a scam. No tip is certain, and we never sell tips or ask you to pay a third party.
Sportsbook questions
What is the minimum age to bet?
You must be 18 or older to open an account and place bets.
Does extra time count in football betting?
Usually not. Most football markets, including 1X2, handicap and over/under, settle on 90 minutes plus stoppage time. Markets that include extra time or penalties say so in their name.
What happens if a match is postponed or abandoned?
It depends on the sportsbook rules for that market, which explain how postponed and abandoned matches are settled. Your bet history shows the final status.
Can I mix different sports in one parlay?
Usually, yes. Some markets can't be combined with others, and the betting slip will tell you if a selection isn't allowed.
Where can I see my open bets?
In your bet history on the main site. Open bets stay there until they settle.
Do sports bets count toward bonus turnover?
Often, but each promotion sets its own rules on eligible bets and minimum odds. Check the offer terms and our promotions guide.
